It's been all the rage over social media lately. Our facebook and instagram feeds have been full of videos of fitness leaders of all types falling down on their faces...
Why? You Ask? Well, because of the Great Paper Challenge! The challenge consists of attempting to pick up a folded piece of paper with only your mouth while balancing on one foot. You can't touch down with your hands or the other foot and you must come back up to a full standing position for it to count as a win!
This game isn't just fun to watch and try- it's actually a total body fitness challenge, forcing you to use strength, muscular endurance, stability, flexibility and gross motor planning to help move your body into exactly the right position to be able to lower yourself to your lowest point and slowly bring yourself up without falling over.
this one is TOUGH! And we know that asking you to do it right off the bat may be overwhelming- so this month we are inviting you to work your way down and find out how low you can go!
Our March paper station will have multiple levers:
- Level 1: 3 benches, stacked at their full height on top of each other
- Level 2: 2 benches stacked at their full height on top of each other
- Level 3: 1 bench stacked at its full height
- Level 4: 1 bench stacked at half height
- Level 5: 1 bench, flat on the ground (no risers)
- Level 6: Paper on the floor, folded down the center
Once you can get the paper up off the floor, we can continue to progress the challenge until the paper is almost completely flat on the ground! The possibilities are endless.
We are excited to see you all try your best to beat the Great Paper Challenge. And we promise not to chuckle too hard when some of you stumble on yourselves while trying ;)
