Gina Bateman is a Registered Nurse in Alberta and holds a Degree in Nursing through University of Victoria. She started her nursing career in 1990 and has been working in the health care field, both in leadership and direct care, since that time in various physical and mental health care settings. Her nursing lens allows for a comprehensive and holistic view of client health issues for optimal consideration and care.

Gina has extensive training in and experience using multiple mental health treatment modalities. She is recognized as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional through the International Association of Trauma Professionals.  She now has a very successful practise with Mindful Life Education & Counselling Services.  She is committed to supporting clients in their wellness goals using evidenced-based information and strategies to optimize success.

Large Group Workshop

Your Best Weight - Beyond the Scale.  In this workshop, you will receive information about realistic weight expectations that are unique to each individual given multiple, sometimes surprising, contributing factors to weight issues and related health risks. The workshop will provide participants with an opportunity to improve their understanding of what may be contributing to their weight and health issues and offers helpful strategies to achieve the best weight possible while living the most fulfilling and healthiest lifestyle. The powerful researched-based information will be shared by a Registered Dietician and Registered Nurse/Mental Health Therapist.

Services also provided:

Individual and Relationship Therapy: Focus on wellness goals for individuals or for interpersonal relationships in a therapy setting. Treatment goals are identified with clients upon initiating services to optimize results.

Mindfulness Mentoring: As a stand-alone service or as a follow-up to mindfulness training in workshops, focus of support is on learned and practiced mindfulness-based strategies to improve coping, reduce stress, and regulate emotions.

Fees:  $100.00 for each 50 minute session for therapy and mentoring services:

Treatment and workshops receipts may be submitted to employers or used for personal tax exemptions as applicable. Alberta Health Care and employer insurance designated for therapy do not cover these services.

Cancellation Terms

Individual Appointments: 24 hour cancellation policy with full payment for services if appointment is cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment or there is a no show.

Workshops: Refund for workshop will be available up to 48 hours prior to the workshop start date (minus $50.00 non-refundable processing fee). If the participant spot can be filled within the 48 hours of the start date, refund (minus $50.00 non-refundable processing fee) will be provided.
